These simple yet effective units are placed in work surfaces that were not originally designed for ESD applications. The bottom if the unit has a threaded stud so it can be grounded. The top of the unit has a spring loaded brass pin that stays in contact with your product grounding it at all times even when the unit is retracted. When the units raised the brass pin retracts under little pressure but still remains in contact always grounding your ESD product.
