PBT Ball Transfer: Versatile and Efficient Material Handling Solution

Omtec’s PBT Ball Transfers are designed to enhance efficiency and precision in material handling. These pneumatic pop-up ball transfers are ideal for industrial applications, offering smooth multidirectional movement, stability, and seamless integration with other ergonomic transfer components.

Easy Operation with Pneumatic Controls

Omtec PBT Ball Transfers are compatible with virtually any air control device.

• Non-Electric Controls: Simple foot and hand valves are sufficient for most applications, providing reliable and easy operation.
• Electric Solenoid Valves: For automated systems, sensing device-operated electric solenoid valves can be integrated.

To ensure optimal performance, PBT Ball Transfers require Filtered, Regulated, and Lubricated (FRL) compressed air. Omtec offers FRL kits, along with non-detent foot valve kits and detent toggle hand valve kits. Additional control options can be provided upon request.

• Air Pressure: The regulator should be set at 50 PSI (3.447 bar).
• Low Air Volume: Each up-and-down cycle of a ball transfer uses only 0.00038 cubic feet (0.0000108 cubic meters) of air, making it energy-efficient.

Installation Made Easy

Omtec provides the tools necessary for seamless installation on various surfaces, including:

• Carbide-Tipped Bits: Correctly sized bits are available for boring holes in plastic and wood composite surfaces. A 1/2-inch (13mm) hand drill is required.
• Rabbeting Bits for Flanges: For recessed flanges, Omtec offers 1/4-inch (6.35mm) carbide-tipped rabbeting bits, suitable for trim routers.

Surface Thickness Requirements:

• Steel: Minimum thickness of 0.092 inches (2.34mm).
• Aluminum: Minimum thickness of 0.125 inches (3.18mm).
• Reinforced ribbing is recommended for all surfaces depending on the application.

Ball Transfer Weight Capacity

While PBT Ball Transfers are rated for 50 lbs (22.68 kg), the actual live load capacity depends on several factors, including the item’s surface and weight distribution. Experience indicates the most successful live load ranges between 5 to 30 lbs (2.27 to 13.61 kg) per ball transfer.
