Omtec pop-up ball transfer units use extremely low air volume, making air consumption rarely a concern. For example, each up-and-down cycle of one ball only uses 0.00038 cubic feet (0.0000108 cubic meters) of air. Moreover, almost any air control device can operate these units. In most cases, simple non-electric foot and hand valves are sufficient, though electric solenoid controls can be used when paired with sensing devices.
